Apple Pie vs Pumpkin Pie
During Thanksgiving last week, we got to spend some precious time with our families enjoying some of the most delicious food. Everybody has their own favorite thanksgiving dishes including stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and the most controversial dessert: pie. There is always the notorious battle of pumpkin pie versus apple pie. Although pumpkin pie and apple pie are both delicious fruit pies, apple pie is more flavorful and can be paired well with other toppings, making it the better pie.
Also, apple pie can be paired with many other sweets to make it even more enjoyable. For example, warm apple pie with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is one of the best desserts ever. The tart and warm apple pie (which is already superior) combined with the creamy and cold vanilla ice cream (which is also one of the best) makes a top tier dessert because of how delicious and versatile the apple pie is. It can also be baked with a crumble topping, which adds a nice crunchy and buttery aspect to the pie. Lastly, it can be paired with a drizzle of caramel because the pie itself isn’t too sweet, so the caramel adds a creamy and sweet touch to the pie. Pumpkin pie on the other hand, can only be enjoyed with a few things like whipped cream. However, these items don’t take the dessert to the next level, like apple pie and it’s toppings.
Although apple pie and pumpkin pie are both delicious fruit-filled pies, apple pie is the distinguishable winner because of its flavor and versatility. Next Thanksgiving or the next time you have to choose between one of these pies, make sure you keep in mind all the advantages of apple pie.
